Carved Stone Ladies Boot, 1917 vessel with face and that this brush wasThis charming little silhouette carving of a Victorian style ladies' boot stands up proudly on its own, and features deeply incised then blackened detailing for the laces and across the toe, and then 1917, presumably the year of its making, on both sides. I am not entirely sure of the stone; it may be marble but I'm not quite certain. The white irregularities seem for the most part to be indigenous to the stone rather than dings to the surface, though
