I am not certain of the artist as the only mark on the bottom is "1642 Italy" and I have not found its match

at its lowest point it measures 1 inch high

The handle at the middle of the lid probably once had a tassel attached

with the dominant color a wonderful rich burgandy) and the only signs of age are a little bit of dirt on one side along the center fold line—barely noticeable

The cork is worn and easily replaced

Handmade Antique Horsehair Brush with Turned Handle and Pink Cloth Wrap porcelain vase I am not certain ofI'd guess this lovely old handmade brush, with its hand sewn pink cloth wrapped ferrule, is Victorian, but I'm not completely sure, and I'm also not entirely certain whether it was intended as a crumb brush, or a clothes brush, or what. It's quite a sweet one though, with the horsehair woven through what seems likely to be linen cloth (visible just above the scalloped edge of the pink cloth), and a nicely shaped turned wooden handle. The fabric, which
