Constructed of bronze, the obverse bearing a raised map of Greater Germany, overlaid by an NSFK insignia, an inscription of DIE TECHNIKUMSTADT MITTWEIDA (THE TECHNOLOGICAL CITY OF MITTWEDA), topped by a depiction of Mittweida Hochschule and flanked by a coat of arms, and an additional inscription of WERTUNGSPLATZ IM DEUTSCHLANDFLUG 1938 (PLACEMENT IN THE GERMANY FLIGHT DAY 1938),
