Constructed of silvered bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original bow tie ribbon with horizontal pinback, the obverse bearing a raised and pebbled Geneva Cross, overlaid by a NSDAP style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a raised inscription of MEDAILLE FR DEUTSCHE VOLKSPFLEGE (MEDAL FOR THE CARE OF THE
