Following the example of the Renaissance artists, Rene Lalique often turned to the female form as inspiration for ornamentation. Here we have Flore, goddess of nature and spring in Roman mythology. Sculpted from radiant crystal, Flore is depicted watching over the foliage amongst which she sits, patiently allowing nature to awake each spring.
