A half moon gorget constructed of brightly polished aluminum with a raised perimeter rim, the obverse centre presents a stamped centre piece consisting of the RAD shovel encircled by wheat sheaves and superimposed on a mobile swastika, above the emblem is a furled banner bearing the title STREIFENDIENST (PATROL DUTY), the reverse presents an olive drab wool backing, the gorget is suspended from an aluminum chain consisting of interconnected
