It is constructed of an olive drab whipcord wool, and fully surrounded by a decorative side panel which is scalloped toward the front. Two magnetic metal buttons are fastened to the panel just below the peak. The peak itself features an insignia consisting of a cascading gold bullion wire medallion with a machine embroidered red, white, and green
