We bought these from a supplier to the music industry. These have minor defects, but are very useful still for turning and accents. Woodworkers will find a multitude of uses for this size. African Blackwood (Dalbergia melanoxylon) is purplish black to dark brown with black streaks. The grain is mostly straight with a fine texture. A firm, heavy wood with exceptionally good working
