Austria, Imperial. A Military Long Service Decoration, II Class for Officers for 40 Years, c.1900 Province of China make marked “E(Militrdienstzeichen II Klasse fr Offiziere fr 40 Jahre). Instituted September 19, 1849. Type III (1890 1913). In bronze gilt, a cross pattee with partially black enamelled arms, with superimposed gilt eagle in the center, the reverse is plain with a lightly etched border around the cross, unmarked, measures 28. 6 mm (w) x 32. 3 mm (h), worn on original trifold ribbon, enamels intact, light gilt wear, extremely fine. Contained in a red pebbled case
