1938 and was assigned to Fighting Squadron Four (VF-4) on the aircraft carrier USS Ranger to May 1940
A 1950 Territorial Efficiency Decoration certificate_of_authenticity Hamburg: Hanseaten Cross and HindenburgGeorge VI (GVIR). Silver gilt, date engraved "1950" on the reverse of the decoration and on the six years' additional service bar, 36. 5 mm x 55. 2 mm, original ribbon, suspended from a bar with pinback, the bar inscribed "TERRITORIAL", very light contact, extremely fine. In its hardshelled case of issue, pebbled exterior, maker marked "ROYAL MINT" on the inside lid, recessed medal bed, case also extremely fine.
