Born in Seattle in 1902, she traded the Pacific Northwest for the glamorous world of 1920s London, where she rubbed shoulders with royalty and the Bright Young Things whilst building a career in journalism. She even counted Elsa Schiaparelli among her close friends. But Frances's story gets even better. After a devastating house fire in 1933 that claimed her first husband's life
