The magnetic closure, working with the rubberized cushioning, allows you to stagger your arrows, keeping the fletching from coming into contact with one another, and keeping the arrows from moving and shaking around within the Vault. It can also be used independently of the Arrow Vault, and work simply as a way to keep your arrows from moving
