Mascarello wines continue to be considered among Barolo's greatest
This was distilled in 1997 and it was aged for a decade in bourbon casks before a 30 month finish in Hermitage wine casks (a classic French red made using Syrah grapes)
Aged in a combination of bourbon and oloroso-sherry casks
with more mellow notes developing underneath from the time it spent resting
and some of the structures of the equestrian grounds were incorporated into the winery
