An Order For Public Instruction, Commander, By Frederico, Costa, C.1925 Auction Archive Leconfield Pass (date stamped 14In silver gilt and enameled insignia on an eight pointed star base, vaulted, maker marked "FREDERICO COSTA LISBOA" on the reverse cartouche, measuring 81 mm (w) x 81. 5 mm (h), vertical pinback, intact enamels, light gilt wear on the wreathing, extremely fine. Footnote: The order was founded on January 30, 1919, as an award for outstanding civil servants and teachers. It comes in four classes and a medal, with the Portuguese President as Grand Master.
