Serbia, Kingdom. An Order of the White Eagle, V Class Knight, c. 1917 Auction the American LegionInstituted in 1883. Type II (1903 1941 Issue). In silver gilt, two eagles in white enamel, obverse centre shows royal cipher, reverse center shows inscription 1882, inclusive of its crown and ball suspension 66. 7 mm (h) x 34. 2 mm (w), very fine condition. Footnote: The Order was instituted 23rd January 1883 by King Milan I of Serbia. In the period between 1883 and 1898 Order of the White Eagle was the highest award in the Kingdom of Serbia.
