The Kinkaku ji (Golden Pavilion Temple) is a Buddhist temple originally founded in 1397. It was destroyed by fire twice during the Onin War in the 15th century, and again in 1950 when a monk set fire to it before attempting suicide. It was rebuilt in 1955. Stereoscopic card. Detail.
