The vines benefited from timely Spring rain with cooler days and very little heat spikes. As with previous years harvest started 1 2 weeks earlier than normal years. The yields were smaller along with berry size leading to concentrated flavors and aromas in the fruit. A couple of heat spikes during harvest will ultimately test a winemaker's ability to craft a wine of high quality in a more
