Ethiopia, Kingdom. An Order of Emperor Menelik II, V Class Member Heer. A Flak/Artillery Hauptmann’s Service Tunic circumscribed by an inscription ofInstituted in 1924. Three piece construction, in bronze gilt with red and green enamels, unmarked, measuring 41 mm (w) x 62 mm (h) inclusive of its crown suspension, intact enamels, traces of greening evident on the lion and text on the obverse centrepiece, without ribbon, near extremely fine. Footnote: The Order of Emperor Menelik II was instituted in 1924 by Ras Tafari Makonnen and was awarded to senior military and court officials, in five grades:
