The cap is fully surrounded by fold down side panels, secured in place at the front by machine stitching. A band of silver aluminum wire piping fully surrounds the crown, as well as the front of the panels, indicating Officer issue. Each side features a ventilation hole reinforced with a grey painted zink eyelet. The peak bears an insignia in the form of a field grey rayon backer overlaid
