Three piece construction, in bronze with red, white and green enamels, with a shield bearing the monogram of Tsar Boris III (reign: 1918 1943) at the top, measuring 39. 5 mm (w) x 54. 3 mm (h), marked in cyrillic type with the Milosheva of Sofia maker mark and coded "3 23 89" on the support plate and on the screwback, chipping and loss evident in the red enamels on the oval centrepiece to the right of the soldier's bust, the enamels on the shield
