An Ornate Silver Khanjar Dagger, c.1850 Hold where he died on OctoberAn excellent example of an Ottoman Empire khanjar or jambiya dating from the 19th century, featuring a traditional carved buffalo horn hilt, which was used in daggers of wealthier men during the period. Fitted securely within the hilt is 26 cm steel (magnetic) blade that has not been cleaned or polished recently however does exhibit signs of having been sharped at some point during the last century.
