Constructed of silvered and patinated tombak, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, overlaid by a swooping Luftwaffe eagle, the reverse with a raised crimped barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, with two visible rivets securing the obverse eagle in place, unmarked, measuring 65. 53 mm (w) x 53. 34 mm (h), weighing 43. 4 grams,
