Hawai’i Kingdom. A Royal Order Of Kalakaua, Companion's Badge, By Kretly, Paris, C.1890 Auction Archive measuring 425 mm in length(Kalkaua I e Hookanaka). Instituted 1875 by King Kalakaua. Manufactured in Paris by Kretly who was primary contractor of the Kingdom of Hawaii, a silver and blue enamel maltese cross with a white enamel border with silver wreath segments supported by a puloulou in each quadrant, topped by a surmounting crown, obverse center depicts a circular shield of blue enamel with a yellow and red enameled kahili, surrounded by a white enamel ring with KALAKAUA
