Instituted February 20, 1868 by Victor Emmanuel II. An original case of issue, composed of wood with a red velvet exterior and red silk base, the lid is impressed with the crowned VE monogram, the interior features a dark navy medalbed with a crme coloured silk lid lining, stamped for Cravanzola, measures 110mm (w) x 225mm (l) x 36. 5mm (d), small areas of crushed velvet, hinge and clasp in working order, extremely fine
