Constructed of polished nickel silver; the obverse with a standard HJ motif consisting of an eagle in the center, perched atop a HJ diamond that is surrounded by a serrated circular border with an inner and outer rope, and the HJ motto Blut und Ehre (German Blood and Honour); the reverse with a standard soldered catch and a double prong spring bar; marked with the logo of Assmann, A&S, RZM 17, as well as Ges. Gesch. on the reverse;
