Constructed of aluminum, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Heer style German national eagle clutching a swastika, surrounding a central pebbled shield defaced by crossed swords, affixed with all four original prongs to a lanyard constructed of silver aluminum wire, culminating at each end in a loop for uniform attachment, unmarked, the shield measuring
