A 27Th Infantry Battalion Cap Badge, By Dingwall Newly Listed inscribed "IN AMINTIREA ANULUI AlIn pickled copper, maker marked "DINGWALL" on the reverse, measuring 45 mm (w) x 45 mm (h), both lugs intact, scattered wear spots evident in the pickling, near extremely fine. Footnote: The Battalion was raised in Ontario and Manitoba, with mobilization headquarters at Winnipeg, Manitoba under the authority of G. O. 36, March 15, 1915. The Battalion sailed for England on May 17, 1915 aboard the S. S. Carpathia, under the command of Lieutanant Colonel
