Footnote: The Ehrenkreuz fr Frauen und Jungfrauen was created on March 22, 1871 by Kaiser Wilhelm I of Prussia. The award was presented to women and girls who made sacrifices to help Prussian troops fighting in the German Franco War (1870 1871).
