Mecklenburg-Schwerin. An Order Of The Wendish Crown, Miniature Cross In Gold, C.1900 Archive The Order is unmarked(Hausorden der Wendischen Krone). Instituted May 12 1864. In Gold, a white enamelled Maltese Cross with crowned griffins in each quadrant, the obverse medallion presents a Wendish crown on a blue enamelled field, surrounded by a red enamelled ring inscribed PER ASPERA AD ASTRA (Through hardships to the stars), reverse medallion presents the royal monogram FF on a blue enamelled field, the badge is surmounted by a crown suspension, measures 15. 7mm (w)
