Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon on a parade mount with a horizontal pinback, the obverse bearing a raised German national eagle overlaid by a central mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a wreathed inscription of FR RETTUNG AUS GEFAHR (FOR RESCUE FROM DANGER), the edge stamped with a crescent
