It has thin, long, somewhat soft, needle like leaves along vertical branches. Large, red flower clusters form on the ends of branches bloom in the spring. Can be used for cut flowers. The name 'Long John' comes from a combination of the names of the two parent species, Grevillea longistyla and G. johnsonii, that were involved in this hybrid. Family
