An M1866/1870 French Saber Bayonet, By The Manufacturer Of Arms Of Saint-Étienne consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac 1901 at HeidelbergThis bayonet features a 57 cm long steel blade, magnetic, incorporating a semi sharp blade and a very sharp tip, the fuller running three quarters of the length of the bayonet on both sides, engraved in running script "Mre d'Armes de St. Etienne" (Manufacturer of Weapons of Saint tienne) and "Mars 1874" on the wide spine, extensive foundry and government proof marks on crossguard, with original black painted scabbard, very fine.
