Tiny but Glorious Early 20th C. Quimper Dish unguentarium This late 19th century oversized

This late 19th century oversized wooden painter's palette is not in perfect shape

which looks very much like the image of snake to me

leather tongue and ears

which shows a tear along the left edge and a little dark staining  toward the upper left corner

but I'm really glad someone kept the lid

Quimper Dish unguentarium This late 19th century oversizedI've never gotten hugely excited about Quimper pottery tin glazed hand painted French faience manufactured in Quimper, a town in Brittany but I've completely fallen in love with the tiny dish. Just a perfect, gloriously colorful, completely joyful thing. The right size for laying one tea bag, or a setting a diamond ring before one goes out to work in the garden.
