Wonderfully Carved and Gilded Miniature Book iron bucket The pigment could certainly stillI love a miniature book carved of marble, but rarer in my experience to find one carved of wood, and I really love the detail of the carving on this old one, in its original gold paint (or maybe even gold leaf) which has aged beautifully. Such a lot of care invested in it, with chip carved detailing on the face of it, and lots of attention to form of the spine and pages. Really a beautifully done and special feeling thing. 1 3 4" x 1 3 16" x 5 8".
